:: Compulsion ::Watching the smoke curl up
From the carefully rolled tip
I wonder why I've always been compelled

__The Dance__Warm summer rain slides down wet bodies
Easing the swing, sway to the orchestration of nature
Fingers entwined, laughter lifting and fading
Hearts thrashing in tempo to thunder's boom
Illuminations of male and female entwined in tango
Lightning the perfect spotlight upon a dancefloor
Of leaves and earth and wet

__Silence__Sitting in the flickering candlelit shadows
Wishing he would see through eyes not his own
Knowing thoughts that aren't his
Feeling emotions belonging to another.

Silent abuse of mind and heart
Thinking of ways to help, to reach down
Lift up in whatever feeble ways afforded
Nothing but his own lifeline
Will be accepted as justifiable action.

Hovering on the outside, gazing inwardly
Into a world I can only vaguely understand
He orbits around a planet, in a universe
Only few could know and join his journey
I can only gaze at the stars and know they are his.

This is what autumn feels like to me. I can smell the dampness of the earth, the pumpkins and apples perfect for harvesting; I can feel the crisp fall air as the sun begins to set. I wish I were in that picture right now!
